Responsible for inspecting, installing, performing electrical safety tests, preventive maintenance, calibrating and maintaining medical equipment. Works with and assists other technical staff to insure consistency in operations.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and/or experience: Requires an Associate’s degree in Electronics or Biomedical Equipment Technology or completion of a U.S. military electronic or biomedical equipment program; a minimum of three (3) years medical equipment experience, preferably in a healthcare; ICC Certification for Biomedical Equipment Technology preferred. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license and be able to meet hospital insurance requirements.
Knowledge: Knowledge to read electronic and electric schematic drawings and service manuals to maintain equipment within manufacturer’s specifications. Knowledge of medical terminology and capable of communicating in a medical environment.
Skills: Basic computers and software skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Requires excellent customer service skills. Electro-mechanical experience; requires the knowledge to troubleshoot electronic equipment to component level.
Abilities: Ability to work well with others in a team environment; willing to be on-call on a rotating basis; ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with fellow workers, nursing, medical staff, vendors and general public; provide technical assistance and instructions to personnel in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
