POSITION SUMMARY
The Editorial Content Strategist creates digital content that tells the right story in a voice thatrsquos clear, credible, supportive, and galvanizing. They make sure itrsquos user-centric and engaging, meets high quality standards, and furthers our mission. Reporting to the Senior Director, Editorial Strategy, the Editorial Content Strategist is a direct contributor, working closely with a cross-functional team to apply a new content model to existing websites. Responsibilities include writing and editing, auditing content, and creating content briefs and other content strategy deliverables.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Writes and edits long- and short-form copy Revises copy in response to feedback Crafts content through the synthesis of a variety of written sources and other inputs Adapts content to fit our global content model Audits content for accuracy, relevance, quality, and purpose Collaborates on site maps and information architecture, working closely with Content Engineering and UX Follows College Boardrsquos brand, style, accessibility, and other guidelines
PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS
Collaborates with product owners, content engineers, communications colleagues, project managers, user experience designers (UXD), and information technology (IT), as well as service- and business-unit partners including legal and individual programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required EducationExperience Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, Business, Library Sciences, Human Factors, Marketing, Instructional Design, or related field preferred Five to seven years of experience in creating, adapting, and managing content for diverse audiences Demonstrated skills in writing and editing for digital channels Preferred EducationExperience Experience in education-related industries Experience with CMS system migrations (Drupal CMS a plus) and content audits Familiarity with content modeling and structuring content for reuse Experience implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Related Skills Other Requirements Has exceptional communication, time management, and critical thinking skills Responds to feedback productively and admits mistakes quickly and openly Pays close attention to detail and sees the big picture Can translate user and business needs into a holistic set of content requirements Can define deliverables and provide frequent updates Collaborates in teams and works independently Brand Experience working on Drupal transition projects Profile mid-level content strategist with excellent editorial skills Must-have skills content strategy, editing, writing, content auditing, digital channels, bachelorrsquos degree Nice-to-have skills education-related industry For consideration, please submit your resume as a MS Word attachment to The Consortium “Combining Talent with Technology” www.consortiuminc.com
